Onsite containment management of waste oil, generator fuel, transmission fluids, motor oil and other hazardous
liquids is a major market focus for B H Tank, Inc. Our VDW Double
Wall Tanks are U.L. 142 approved and designed according to Aboveground
Secondary Containment of Flammable Liquids specifications. These requirements
cover steel atmospheric tanks intended for aboveground storage of
non-corrosive, stable flammable and combustible liquids that have
a specific gravity not exceeding that of water.
The VDW double wall tanks are intended for installation and use in
accordance with the Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code, NFPA 30; the
Standard for Installation of Oil Burning Equipment, NFPA 31; and the Automotive
and Marine Service Station Code, NFPA 30A. Double Wall Tanks covered by these requirements
are fabricated, inspected and tested for leakage before shipment from
the factory as completely assembled vessels.
Secondary Containment Aboveground Tank for Flammable
Liquids - A primary containment aboveground tank contained within a steel
secondary containment shell forming an interstitial (annular) space, which
is capable of being, monitored for leakage into the space from either
the interior or exterior walls.
The Secondary Tank will contain 110 percent of the primary
tank nominal capacity.
The tanks are manufactured for vented storage of waste
oil, solvents, antifreeze, diesel, and other products that required double
wall containment.
The double wall tanks are finished with a "Safety Red"
baked on topcoat for outdoor exposure and are forklift accessible
for transporting when empty. Tanks are for stationary use only. Other
tank features include:
A gauge rod for monitoring the secondary containment
tank.
A 4" threaded fill port with hinged inspection
hatch.
(2) 4" threaded vent ports for emergency
pressure relief vents on secondary and primary compartments
(2) 2" FNPT (female national pipe thread)
fittings in primary compartment for normal vent and pump outlet
(1) 2" FNPT in secondary containment compartment
for drain plug
Forklift channels to move tank (empty only)
and elevate tank 1-1/2" above ground
Baked on polymer powder coating. Standard colors
are Red, White or Blue. Custom colors available.
